Editorial Style

The editorial style manual for Washington State University's print and electronic marketing materials is based on The Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition). A summary of the Chicago Manual's rules covering some of the most frequently encountered style issues is presented here. For a more thorough explanation, please refer to the Chicago Manual, which can be ordered from the Students Book Corporation. The University of Chicago Press also maintains a Q & A site  that posts answers to Chicago style-related questions.

News releases and media relations communications are based on the Associated Press Stylebook, in accordance with industry standards. The WSU News Service can provide additional information about AP style and media relations.
